Our School
The teachers and staff at SpurlingChristianAcademy provide a Biblically based, academically challenging, experience enriched, educational program for K-3 - 3rd grade children and High School 9-12.
Each student is provided with a strong academic foundation in phonics-based Reading, English, Spelling, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies utilizing the well known A Beka Curriculum. The Bible is integrated into all curricular areas as well as being a course of study by itself.
Our sights are high enough, academically, to be a healthy challenge to every student and yet attainable with some concentrated effort. The acceptance of responsibility for both a student’s academic studies, as well as for his actions towards others, is continually taught.
Our Staff
Our teaching staff is comprised of individuals committed to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and the working of the Holy Spirit in the educational process and in Christian life. Each is trained and experienced in teaching the "A Beka" curriculum. Education levels for staff and faculty vary according to position. They range from some college to Master degree.
Our teachers genuinely care for each child. Educational effectiveness also requires a loving teacher-student relationship based on mutual respect, fair discipline and parental support.
The most important part of educating children is to encourage them in the love of God, His Word, and the development of Christian character and values.
"These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up." (Deuteronomy 6:6-7)
"Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord." (Ephesians 6:4)
In addition to spiritual training, children also need academic training, training in citizenship in order to become productive members of society. Parents should prayerfully seek God concerning the educational choices they make for their children.
